Nice bar/restaurant on the seafront in Torquay. Plentiful outside seating that gives a decent view of the sea (partially blocked by the sea wall) but traffic on the road outside can be busy so expect noise and fumes to accompany your food and drink.Lots of comfy seating inside.Menu is usual pub fare and there is a good selection of beer, wines and spirits. Bar staff were not particularly welcoming when we visited. They suggested that they were unable to make a Dark &nStormy for one of my group as 'it wasn't on the menu'. But they were able to sell a dark rum and ginger ale??!
We have visited often in the past, our last visit was on a Saturday early afternoon on January '19 they had run out of milk alternatives so I could not have a coffee (the server who took the order was unapologetic), the bacon sandwich was terrible, bacon rock hard, virtually inedible. Such a shame as such a lovely space, and wonderful views!
Whilst visiting the area I came across visto. It was very busy so food took a little time to come but when it arrived I was very happy. Only real let down for me was I approached the bar and seen tip jars. I personally wanted to tip the kitchen as the food was enjoyable and I never really had any service from the waiting staff. I asked the bar staff how I tip the kitchen to which they replied kitchen dont get tips. I thought this was a real shame as I can only imagine how stressed all the kitchen staff must have been in these busy conditions
